Paws & Think offers programs for:
- Pet therapy registration
- Reading to children
- At-risk youth to teach dog training
I love this not-for-profit organization. I volunteer with pet therapy reading days at the library with the dogs and kids. It’s amazing how kids feel safe to read aloud as the dog listens and doesn’t judge how they read.
I also help in the dog therapy registration process by making loud noises, and using a walker/wheelchair to see how well a dog handles distractions.
Therapy dogs also help hospital patients get their minds off the situation. Just petting a dog helps them feel better.
